Rotary Club Ljubljana Ilirija was founded on 13 June 2013 in the Jupiter Hall of the Golf Hotel in Bled. Dedication to charity, care for the community, and friendship between members have been the main pillars of the club's work since its inception. The club brings together leaders, experts, and passionate individuals who want to make a positive difference.

Our club’s mission is to encourage and support a variety of projects that serve the common good and reinforce the “ideals of service”, both domestically and through international cooperation.

Since our inception, we have worked to increase membership, and we continue to work to encourage active membership and to strengthen links with other clubs. Rotary Club Ljubljana Ilirija is the godparent of Rotary Club Julija and is twinned with Rotary Club Skopje East.

Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of RC Ilirija

The celebration of the 10th anniversary of the founding of the Rotary Club Ilirija took place on March 6, 2025 in the Zorn Business Building in Stegne. The event was of a charitable nature, as all funds raised will be donated to Rotary charity projects.

At the event, in a cultural and social evening, we:

Presented the club’s operations and important milestones from its inception to the present day.
Awarded five Paul Harris Fellow awards, one of the highest awards in the Rotary organization, which is awarded to individuals for an exceptional contribution to the realization of Rotary goals. The recipients were Peter Vidmar, Tomaž Pavlica, Aleš Musić and Dušan Peterkovič.
With special honor and deep gratitude for his exceptional work in the community and selfless help to fellow citizens, the Rotary Club Ljubljana Ilirija also awarded the Paul Harris Fellow award to Ivan Kneževič, Doctor of Medicine.
Enjoyed an exceptional performance by one of the best Slovenian comedians, Tadej Toš.
We ended the evening in the Rotary spirit – with relaxed socializing, networking, and making new friends.

Ilirija Open Charity Golf Tournament

The Ilirija Open charity golf tournament brings together Rotarians and guests from different countries. All donations go towards charitable projects. In 2015, for example, we awarded scholarships to several talented young artists and scientists, and provided one of the first public defibrillators in Bled.

The Rotary Club of Ljubljana Ilirija supports students in various fields through its scholarship programs and other forms of assistance. We believe that education is the key to a successful future, so we strive to make the path easier for young talents. With scholarships and mentoring, we help students achieve their goals and encourage their personal and professional development.

Charity projects

"Talented Children" Project

The Rotary Club of Ilirija is pleased to present the project “Talented children”, which is aimed at encouraging and supporting talented children and young people. The project is designed for young people who show talent and potential in various fields.

KEY EMPHASIS OF THE PROJECT
Identification of special talent: we work with organizations and experts to identify gifted children with unique abilities that are often accompanied by special challenges. Holistic support: the focus is on providing professional support and forming a group where it enables talented young people to change their ideas, interests and outlook and grow together in a mutually supportive environment.

WHY IS THE PROJECT IMPORTANT?
In society, we often overlook the potential of children who do not fit the classic ideas of talent. With timely support and understanding, you can achieve the best results and contribute to society in a unique way.

How can you help?

Donations

Your donations will help to buy equipment, and to fund participation in workshops, competitions or therapies that help children develop.

Mentoring

If you have experience in areas such as art, technology or psychology, you are welcome to become a mentor.

Raising awareness

Help us by sharing information about the project and encouraging an open dialogue about special talent.

Knowledge dissemination and education

The Club regularly organises talks and events for all our members on topical issues such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, public speaking, sustainable solutions, healthy lifestyles, etc. In doing so, we encourage the growth and development of our members and our community.
